27 March: In the morning, overcast; snow. [At] seven thirty, 26°F [−3.3°C]. Wind east. Old Addíh-Hiddísch was drawn. It was cloudy and warm. About noon, south wind, warm, cloudy at the same time. At twelve o’ clock, 41°F [5°C]. Wind south. The same weather in the afternoon. The wind in the evening [came] out of the west, strong and warm. In the afternoon, the Crazy Dogs danced in the fort, and at dusk a man from Ruhptare who had argued with Kipp over the price of a beaver trap smashed a window in the room adjoining ours. They pursued him without success. Evening dark, windy, warm.
