Sandstone Formations Resembling a Blasted Fortress

Description

According to Prince Maximilian's account, as the keelboat made its way northward above the mouth of the Arrow River on August 6, the appearance of the channel became increasingly fantastic. On the right, he reported in his journal for that day, "whole stretches have totally the aspect of a large and blasted fortress."
