A Toad

Description

With Dreidoppel, Maximilian spent much of August 13 through 16 exploring the heights above the Lehigh Valley; during this time he obtained several specimens of snakes, frogs, turtles, and toads. In his journal for August 17 he noted that "Mr. Bodmer made some very exact drawings of toads."
