Today the women at Mih-Tutta-Hangkusch celebrated the corn festival, or the dedication of the corn. [By] eleven o’clock, the festivity was finished. Three women remained lying near the offerings all day long. The young people held races. Weather very pleasant. A blue hawk with a white uropygium [was seen, as were] ducks and geese. Wind south; at twelve o’clock, 51°F [10.6°C]. A little windy [in the] afternoon [but] pleasant. Evening cloudy, calm [and] warm.
